Why My Logo Means So Much to Me

When people first see my logo, they usually notice two things—a hibiscus flower and a tiny ladybug.

Those aren't random design choices.

They're pieces of my story.

The hibiscus has always been my favorite flower. Every time I see one, I'm reminded of tropical places, warm sunshine, the sound of the ocean, and the feeling of my feet in the sand. The beach has always been where my soul feels the most at peace. It's where I can breathe, slow down, recharge, and reconnect with myself.

That feeling is something I hope to bring into everything I create.

The little ladybug has an even deeper meaning.

My maternal grandmother, Nana, helped shape so much of the person I am today. She loved ladybugs, and because of her, they've become something incredibly special to me. I even have several ladybug tattoos as a reminder of the love she gave me and the lessons she left behind.

Over the years, there have been moments that felt too meaningful to ignore.

One morning, before anyone else in the house was awake, I wandered into the kitchen to make my morning coffee. Still half asleep, I reached for the coffee pot to fill it with water and there, sitting in the perfect spot where I couldn't possibly miss it, was a tiny ladybug.

I couldn't help but smile.

The first thing I said was, "Good morning, Nana."

I gently carried the little visitor outside and let it continue on its way, but it had already done what it came to do—it made me feel connected to someone I still miss very much.

Another moment happened shortly after Kris proposed to me.

I was floating peacefully in the pool when a ladybug landed directly on my engagement ring. It stayed there for quite a while, completely content.

To someone else, it may have simply been a ladybug.

To me, it felt like Nana was saying, "I approve."

Whether those moments were coincidence or something more, I'll never know.

What I do know is how they made me feel.

That's why, when it came time to create the logo for Spirited Crafts, I knew exactly what belonged in it.

A hibiscus for the peace my soul finds by the ocean.

A ladybug for the woman whose love still guides me.

Every time you see my logo, you're seeing a little piece of my heart.

It's a reminder of where I find peace, where I came from, and why authenticity has always been at the center of everything I create.

Because Spirited Crafts has never been about simply making products.

It's about creating from a place that is genuinely, unapologetically me.
